Last week our teams returned to site at Llandinam to carry out non-outage defect rectification works on the P&L lines at the wind farm site for SP Renewables. These works followed findings identified during our recent survey of the network infrastructure.
The programme of works focused on upgrading the signing and guarding arrangements across all 33kV wood poles on site. These upgrades are a critical part of maintaining safety standards across the network, helping to ensure clear identification and protection measures are in place for both operational teams and the wider environment.
All works were completed safely and efficiently, with no disruption to the wind farm’s operations. Delivering projects on live network infrastructure requires careful planning, strong coordination, and a consistent commitment to safety from every member of the team. Thanks to the professionalism and attention to detail of everyone involved, the upgrades were delivered to a high standard.
In addition to these improvements, we are now carrying out regular surveys at the Llandinam site. Due to the exposed nature of the location and the high wind conditions common in the area, ongoing monitoring is essential to ensure the network infrastructure continues to perform reliably and withstand the environmental demands placed upon it.
By combining proactive surveying with targeted maintenance works, we are helping to support the long-term resilience and safety of the network that powers renewable energy generation.
A great effort from all involved in successfully delivering this work.
